We had the exciting opportunity to have our home in the 2016 Salt Lake Parade of Homes. As much as I love design, I just couldn't pass up the chance to do all the interior design and decor myself.
It was so fun to make this home an expression of our family, and all the unique things that make us who we are. I will say I broke design rules, I thought outside the box, and made it my goal to create an overall unique feel, mixing all the styles we loved, while sprinkling little elements that express who we each are.
I think that is so important in interior design. For me its not just about what looks good, or what is in style. For me its about finding the things that matter most to you. The things that speak to your soul, and creating something out of that that really speaks to you. while inspiring you to be the best version of yourself.
As it came time to name our home for the Parade, "The Harlow" was suggested. We loved it. It was so fitting. When we named our daughter Harlow, we loved it because it was a timeless name, a celebration of a unique, beautiful nostalgic name, with a modern twist. That same meaning translated into the design of our home.
In celebration of "The Harlow" I will be doing a series of posts highlighting the details of design in our home. From our selections to our decor, I'm going to tell you what we did, who we worked with, and how we came up with the designs we did. I hope this is helpful in creating your dream home. I would love to help you create your dream home, by finding and defining your style and the design that speaks to your soul.
We were lucky enough to find people who were passionate about their craft. I am so thrilled that that passion went into creating our dream home. That energy and passion will be in our home surrounding our family as we raise our children. There is beauty in that.
